Points Scheme

The British Palomino & Dilute Society Points Scheme is an exciting opportunity for all members to gain recognition for their Palominos and Cream Dilutes, regardless of the discipline in which they compete.

We recognise that not all of our members take part in showing, which is why the Points Scheme is designed to provide opportunities across a range of disciplines and at both affiliated and unaffiliated events.

The scheme runs annually from 1st October to 1st October.

Points Scheme Categories

Separate Points Schemes are available for Palominos and Cream Dilutes, with the following options:

• In-Hand – Affiliated

• In-Hand – Unaffiliated

• Ridden – Affiliated

• Ridden – Unaffiliated

Simply download the entry form and select the relevant discipline, colour and category for you and your horse or pony.

Points Awarded

1st Place – 10 points
2nd Place – 6 points
3rd Place – 4 points
4th Place – 2 points

Returning Your Points Cards

Your completed Points Cards must be returned to the BPS Points Championships Administrator by 10th October for validation.

Awards & Recognition

The Points Scheme winners will be announced at the Society's AGM, with prizes presented at the National Championships Awards Afternoon.

Whether you compete In-Hand or Ridden, at affiliated or unaffiliated events, the Points Scheme is a great way to celebrate your achievements throughout the year with your Palomino or Cream Dilute.

AFFILIATED In-hand scheme

For Palominos & Dilutes placed in the first four at IN-HAND AFFILIATED TO THE BPS

• Palomino section to receive the Palomino & Vergara Cup to the winner,

• The breeder of the winner receives the GRE Cup.

• The Highest placed Yearling receives the Netheroak Trophy.

  You must be a current member and the animal registered with the society.

  Double points at the BPS Spring & National show

UNAFFILIATED IN-HAND SCHEME

For Palominos & Dilutes placed in the first four at any unaffiliated show

1st = 10 points; 2nd = 6 points; 3rd = 4 points; & 4th = 2 points.

AFFILIATED RIDDEN SHOWING

For Palominos & Dilutes placed in the first four at RIDDEN CLASSES AFFILIATED TO THE BPS

• Winner to receive the Copella Shield

Double points at the BPS Spring & National show

unaffiliated Ridden Scheme

For Palominos & Dilutes placed in the first 4 in ANY ridden, driven classes, jumping or endurances events (excluding gymkhanas),

• Long distance rides: Up to 12 miles (19km)= 5 point.

• Over 12 miles (19km)= 8 points.

FEI affiliated, Jockey Club Rule events : 5 bonus points per National start.

8 bonus points per International start.

1st = 10 points; 2nd = 6 points; 3rd = 4 points; & 4th = 2 points.
